I'm still alive

So, it's been forver since I last posted anything here and same goes for reading my flist. Some shiny new fandoms that I have become a little obsessed with and where I've been reading everything I could find had me very distracted.
Well, I am still here and as I'll have a lot of time to read and post in the next months I hope I'll manage to post more often. Who knows, maybe I even start to write again.
A nice and relaxing Sunday to everyone!

Game of Throne fans

yes, I know that there are a few on my flist ... tell me please, how do I find the fandom journals for this?
I have rediscovered my love for aSoIaF with the tv version, which I watched in one weekend and am currently finally reading "A Feast For Crows" honestly this book has been in my shelves for 5 years and only now after watching the series I have started reading it.
I hope to have it finished next week when the next part comes out ... the characters in that part are the ones I really want to read about. So, in short ... what lj communiteis are there ... I've no pairing atm that I prefer ... Jaime and Jon are my favorite chars in the books, well yes and films as well ... so tell me where to look, please?

Almost late but it's still the 8th here and so I wish a very very happy birthday to oldenuf2nb and leashy_bebes. Hope you both had a wonderful day!

And velja I sincerely hope the weather is not all that bad than it looks like in our forecasts here ... did you need your umbrella?

I cannot thank bryoneybrynn enough for starting the fabulous group getshitdone ... it's a great motivation for me to finally get started in achieving my goal.
Breaking things down in small steps really works for me. No more than one or two small things per week that are in itself easy enough but I just needed this encouragement to really get this shit done.
I already know my goals for the next week and I am more hopeful than before that things will work out.

Love being a part of this! ♥

Been watching superstars (german version of American Idol) this evening on and off ... my god, there's so many dumb people on that show ... not many that I liked ... velja what do you think? The doctor? You know, the one with the cute bavarian accent who did the boygroup thing with the two blonds?
Next weekeend we watch together, yes?
It's so much more fun if you have like minded people watching this with you.

I've been reading lots of original fiction lately and discovered a new pet peeve of mine: mixing up names
Really, is it so difficult to keep track of the names of original characters? It's so annoying having to read paragraphs twice or more because they simply make no sense and it's all due to switching of character names. Grrr ....

Some completely different news ... I finally finished writing my application for a new job. Right now I have it sent to a friend who worked a lot in recruiting so she can correct things if needed but as soon as she is done I'll mail it. It's a job with far less travelling and I really hope I get it. Wish me luck!

I had some time this weekend that I have spent on reading great holiday fiction and I even feel a little proud that I managed to stick to my resolve about commenting on the stories I read.
Apart from reading the fest fics that I look forward to for the next two weeks I still am in the middle of reading an original series,
The Peacher Stories by Mike Arram.
A summary from the author: The Peacher series plays itself out in modern-day America, Britain and Rothenia, and is set around a series of characters linked together by their relationships with the Anglo-American Peacher dynasty.

I fell in love with the characters and the slightly AU world in the first story and the number of characters to care about has only grown since. If you're in the mood for a long series of stories about all different kinds of gay men linked together by friendship, love, family and sometimes by chance with themes ranging from simply coming out over mystery and crime to highly political in a fictional state then start reading this.
Oh and did I mention that there's hot sex in there as well?

And I have finally gotten around to reading the "Administration Series" by Manna Francis. Yes, I actually read the book version bc I spend some time on trains or planes and love to have a real book in hand sometimes. I am up to the 4th book, Control, and I think I'll take the last two with me on holiday. I highly recommend trying this series.

Last rec for today is a Merlin/Arthur AU:
[M/A] Warm bricks (Updated to part 38)
In a genuine moment of humanity, Uther takes in Merlin, a foster kid runaway who’s been sleeping in the alley behind Uther’s company’s building. Merlin is overwhelmed by the Pendragon mansion and spends most of his time trying to make himself as small a burden as possible. ..

It's almost finished and a great read.

I love December!

Yes, December has begun and with it the greatest time of the year in HD fandom ... first day of hd_holidays and we got fabulous art and two stories. Great beginning of the season. I haven't even begun reading the advent series that started off today , I'll wait till end of the month.
So much to look forward to reading this month or later as it will be ... again I plan to be away on holiday in warmer regions for most of December... (less than minus 5 degrees currently here in Germany) but I love the christmas cheer that my flist is spreading around and I will enjoy it as much as possible.
A small resolution for this time of the year - I plan to comment on every story that I read, I've gotten far to lazy in recent months.
