I had some time this weekend that I have spent on reading great holiday fiction and I even feel a little proud that I managed to stick to my resolve about commenting on the stories I read.
Apart from reading the fest fics that I look forward to for the next two weeks I still am in the middle of reading an original series,
The Peacher Stories by Mike Arram.
A summary from the author: The
Peacher series plays itself out in modern-day America, Britain and Rothenia, and is set around a series of characters linked together by their relationships with the Anglo-American Peacher dynasty.
I fell in love with the characters and the slightly AU world in the first story and the number of characters to care about has only grown since. If you're in the mood for a long series of stories about all different kinds of gay men linked together by friendship, love, family and sometimes by chance with themes ranging from simply coming out over mystery and crime to highly political in a fictional state then start reading this.
Oh and did I mention that there's hot sex in there as well?
And I have finally gotten around to reading the
"Administration Series" by Manna Francis. Yes, I actually read the book version bc I spend some time on trains or planes and love to have a real book in hand sometimes. I am up to the 4th book, Control, and I think I'll take the last two with me on holiday. I highly recommend trying this series.
Last rec for today is a Merlin/Arthur AU:
[M/A]
Warm bricks (Updated to part 38)
In a genuine moment of humanity, Uther takes in Merlin, a foster kid runaway who’s been sleeping in the alley behind Uther’s company’s building. Merlin is overwhelmed by the Pendragon mansion and spends most of his time trying to make himself as small a burden as possible. ..
It's almost finished and a great read.
